Things to be thankful for.

Here are seven things to be thankful for this season. Number one especially.

The history of the world; from the big bang to the rise of civilization in a one-minute video.

Al Franken has been in the news lately. Turns out there are other problems with him.

In 1965, research funded by the Sugar Research Foundation found sucrose was linked to heart disease. That research was never published.

Don't steal hats; especially MAGA hats.

Nobody should be comfortable with how federal criminal investigations work. Trump-investigation-shows-how-easy-it-feds-create-crimes.

From one frenzy to the next: always thoughtful commentary from Victor Davis Hanson.

Roger Kimbal compares the way Trump is viewed by liberals with how he actually is governing.

I finally watched the last episode of "The Vietnam War". A piece of it discussed how the victors ran the economy based on Communism, creating misery for the people for the ten year experiment until it was reformed to build a vibrant country. Here's another perspective on Communism, loved by many millennials, from someone who lived under it.

Calorie counting

Do you think the government should be requiring restaurants to post calorie counts on menus? Do you find it hard to read the list at the fast food joint because the calorie listings take up valuable space that could be used for larger fonts? Do you think people care about how many calories there are in a Big Mac? Do you think people who count calories don't know the difference between a salad and a milkshake? Do you have a problem with Big Brother getting into every aspect of our lives needlessly?

Curiosity Rover takes a selfie on Mars, actually a composite of photos.

Christians in China have been ordered to take down religious symbols and replace them with pictures of Xi Jinping, While they're at it, they are banning performances of Handel's Messiah.

Remember when the Russians bought the US Uranium supply, and Hillary was one of the folks who approved the sale?  Turns out the FBI knew the fix was in.

Sexual Harassment and Politics UPDATED

Sexual harassment is in the news daily, and the Democrats are being shown as hypocrites:

Michael Kelly was a great reporter for the NY Times, back when the NYT was a real newspaper. Sadly, Kelly was killed covering the Iraq War. He wrote this terrific article on Ted Kennedy, back when Kennedy was being lionized as a liberal icon.

Bill Clinton got covered by well known feminists because he was right on other things.

But, all the talk about sex and power is forcing an awakening among liberals about their past misdeeds and cover-ups.

What happens when you suggest some victims might occasionally lie for money? You lose your job as managing partner.

How about all the women that claimed Bill did bad things? Was Hillary an idiot for putting up with it just to gain power?

Even Linda Tripp is speaking out. "It's a day late and a dollar short."

The Democrats can count on CNN to eschew reporting about dozens of sexual allegations on members of their party. Here's a list of 24 recent Democrat politicians who got no coverage.

Even Al Gore fans are being reminded of his sex assault, but it was covered up to save the planet.

The Roy Moore case is forcing liberals to rethink Clinton

Fake News

Trump was in Japan for just one day and the media invented two fake stories. Here's the full coverage.

Harvey Weinstein stories just keep coming. How he hired private detectives to bury the news.

France has pledged to cut its reliance on nuclear power. Unfortunately, they also want to reduce the use of fossil fuels. They are having a little difficulty with two conflicting goals.

Are all Russia ties now sinister, or are some just business?  Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross has been in the news because he owns part of a shipping company that moves Russian LP gas.

The NAACP, or as Rush Limbaugh calls them, the NAALCP, to recognize their liberal bent, wants to replace the National Anthem.

How leftism makes us stupid: by refusing to have a rational discussion on issues.

Global Cooling

Where is that global warming when you need it? The earth is continuing to cool.

Green Energy. It's failing in Minnesota.

Where did the universe come from? According to science, it shouldn't exist.

George Washington's church is removing his plaque. This is how churches die.

Is the liberal media biased? It's pretty bad when the former CEO of NPR says it is.

As readers of this blog probably know, academia is abandoning the idea of actually educating students. Here's a report on a survey of how the core curriculum is losing out.

The UN is not doing a very good job of helping Christians in Muslim countries. VP Pence says the US will bypass the UN and provide direct aid.

All the media talk about Russia concerns Trump. The Russian link to the Clintons is a much bigger story and actually happened.

Democrats slowly realize Obama destroyed the party. They should have judged Obama by the content of his character instead of the color of his skin.

Here's a funny correction from GQ magazine.

The North Korean dilemma. A real problem for China.

Revising history

A historic church in Alexandria Virginia is removing plaques honoring former members George Washington and Robert E. Lee.  They “create a distraction in our worship space and may create an obstacle to our identity as a welcoming church and an impediment to our growth and to full community with our neighbors.”

The Mueller inquiry is running amuck. The search is going far afield and found nothing yet.

Lost civilizations mapped from space. Brought to you by Digital Globe.

United Airlines is retiring its last Boeing 747. Here's an interesting history of this transformational airplane. Watch the interesting slide show.

I've always had a problem with calling terrorists "cowards". It doesn't seem to fit. Now Scott Adams agrees and suggest a better alternative approach.

How about this sign: a perfect metaphor for Washington DC bureaucracy. Spotted by Greta Vn Susteren.

Gary Sinise has been chosen as Grand Marshall for the Rose Parade. Liberals are upset.

Hilary Clinton says there's a sexual assaulter in the White House. Seems to have forgotten who she's married to.

The University of North Carolina created fake classes for athletes. NCAA lets them off the hook because there's no rule against it.

Jimmy Kimmel should avoid discussing gun control if he can't get his facts right. A thoughtful essay on the NRA.
