Norman Borlaug

Norman Borlaug saved millions of lives, but almost no one knows his name. Read more here.

Ancient Ruins restored by computer. Watch the animation.

Liberals are worried about Mike Pence. If they succeed in getting rid of Trump, this is what they have to face.

Brazil is the murder capital. Brazilians would like to buy some guns for self defense.

Trump is right. The Special Counsel should never have been appointed.

Here's a CDC study that will never be published: the use of firearms is an important crime deterrent.

So a student visits a gun range. Is this any business of the school?

The original Mustang used in the movie Bullitt reappeared. This is how it happened.

Here's a pretty good review of a play about the problems of diversity in college admissions.

A book about the things kids used to learn in school before budget cuts eliminated the useful courses.

Liberals are apoplectic about the appointment of John Bolton as National Security Advisor. I am delighted. Roger Kimball says "John is no warmonger."

An Omaha man "liked" a tweet and lost his job.

So this Marine was in a fire fight and was having trouble with his M107 Sniper Rifle. He called customer service who advised him how to fix the problem so he could resume shooting at people.

Now it's Stephen Foster

This is just an incredible example of stupid people acting up.  A statue of Stephen Foster was removed from its spot in Pittsburgh because it included a black banjo player.

There's a super volcano under Yellowstone National Park. When it erupts, it buries much of the US in ash and has consequences for the whole planet. Geophysicists are trying to figure out when it will erupt again.

John Ellis thinks these are the six most over-rated restaurants out there. See if you agree.  New Yorkers don't seem to share his disdain for Chic fil A, they are lining up outside for those delicious chicken sandwiches, even though the CEO isn't gay friendly.

Tammie Jo Shultz, who landed that 737 with the blown engine, isn't reluctant to share her faith. Pretty nice picture of her with her F-18 fighter jet too.

Climate change doesn't seem to be as bad as they expected. Maybe their models aren't' as good as they thought.

The NFL and a bunch of football players had a secret meeting to discuss how their image is costing them viewers. This is not rocket science, just get the players to stop kneeling.

There were two Waffle House shootings. The media doesn't talk about the one where a patron shot the gun toting robbers with his own weapon.

Dominos with bricks

I can see how they did the first part of this, but the conclusion is a mystery to me. Wait for it.

The New York Times is famously liberal, not just in the editorial sections, but in how they slant the news. It seems they can't even report which books are best sellers.

What do FBI agents have to say about Comey's book tour? They are not pleased.

An interesting discussion of the Jewish position on original sin. Ask the Rabbi.

This Barbara Bush cartoon has gone viral because of the emotional impact.

“If the Trumps were Democrats,” conservative actor James Woods tweeted earlier this month, “Melania would be on every cover of every chic women’s magazine in the world every month.” MIchelle Obama was on the cover of thirty magazines while Obama was President. Melania hasn't been on a single issue.

The Queen of England is famous for her long relationship with her Corgis. The last one has died, saddening her.  For fun, watch this video of the Queen opening the Olympics with the Corgis featured.

Millennials

How ignorant are millennials? Many of them have no idea of what the Holocaust is, let alone the details. (Millennials are kids born in the 1980's or 1990's)

Here's what Fox News thinks about Comey's book: it's filled with unproven attacks on Trump and praise for Comey.

If it was warmer than usual, you would hear about global warming. The never reliable Al Gore blamed the record snowfalls in the East on global warming. Now that we've had record cold, you don't hear much. Edmonton Alberta just set a cold record of 167 days with minimums below freezing. 167 days isn't weather, it's climate.

Public pensions are out of control because of bad decisions by politicians. Further proof that they shouldn't be in charge of things that reward voters. A retired state employee in Oregon is getting $76,000 a month. and the citizens are suffering without services.

Home movies taken in Berlin in July 1945. See what Hitler did to the people.

Dan Walters in the Sacramento Bee: doubts about the prospects of the bullet train to nowhere.

More editorial on the Comey book tour: it's hurting the FBI and they aren't happy.

What's in the mind of a journalist? Thankfully, you don't live there.

Robert Mueller's excellent adventure. Even Baron Trump is under investigation.

There's a new movie coming out called "The Little Pink House".  It's about the Supreme Court's decision to take a house for a commercial development. It's good movie.  Here's a review.

Chappaquiddick

More on the movie coming out about Chappaquiddick.

Where was Kennedy? From the November 1988 issue of National Review.

Churches are leaving the United Methodist Church. Once you ignore the Bible's teaching, are you still a Christian church?

Wonder why the AK-47 became the weapon of choice?  It is designed better to work well in difficult conditions and be used by people of limited intellect.

American citizens have been very patient, but there's a limit.

On the other hand, history proves that Americans can unite even when torn in two.

Conservatives are in hiding in academia. Imagine if they could come out instead of staying in the closet.

The Constitution

Victor Davis Hanson on the Constitution. You shouldn't be able to change it by judicial edict. If you want change, amend it.  More from Dr. Hanson on the Mueller investigation.

This former FBI agent thinks Comey is taking the low road and the book tour is a mistake.

The population is declining in Baltimore as things go from bad to worse. See if you can name the party in charge.

More on CNN's double standard regarding Trump. They had a special on JFK's "legendary" infidelity.

Pretty interesting photo of the Milky Way over some Russian rock formations.

Google puts up a commemorative doodle every day now, usually for some obscure person from history, but also for current events. They neglected to put one up for Easter even though they do other religious holidays. They also missed December 7 and D-day

And of course the reliably liberal NPR is confused about the meaning of Easter.

Did you know that it's a privilege to be a Christian? George Washington University is holding a workshop on Christian privilege.

Over one million illegal aliens have been issued driver's licenses in California. Next thing you know, they'll use them to register to vote.
