In Hoc Anno Domini

In Hoc Anno Domini. This editorial in the Wall Street Journal was written in 1949 by the late Vermont Royster and has been published annually since. Often, the comments in the WSJ are more interesting than the article.

Senate Dem: Griner-for-Bout swap "deeply disturbing," enabling future hostage-takers

Remember Sam Brinton, the Energy Department official that likes to wear women's clothes? He stole a woman's suitcase at the Minneapolis Airport. Well, it seems he also did it in Las Vegas. I guess he just doesn't like to shop in ladies' boutiques. He doesn't seem to work at DOE anymore.

Twitter files #7: the FBI sets up the scam. When the Hunter Biden laptop story broke shortly before the 2020 election, I initially experienced a brief sense of relief. It had been a tense year, to be sure: COVID, then the Floyd riots, and with the election looming I had a gut feeling that the cognitively challenged, mendacious, corrupt, newly-minted leftist Joe Biden was going to win. Now, with this laptop story, maybe enough people were going to learn about more of the family corruption, and perhaps it would change the outcome.

Take yourself back in time to World War II and watch this film about the manufacture of 3-inch anti-aircraft shells. The amount of effort it took to make just one bullet is amazing.

One of Biden's appointments is a man who dresses in women's clothing. He/she is in the Deprtment of Energy storage of nuclear waste. He stole a woman's suitcase in Minneapolis. Theft case against Biden nonbinary aide Sam Brinton is admittedly ‘weirder.

Pretty good story about a trailer-dwelling poor person rose to Rule the Best-Seller List. With legions of devoted fans and a knack for high-voltage emotional drama, Hoover has sold more than 20 million books. And she’s done it her way.

I was at a Walmart this week that had remarkable security measures. I wanted to buy some T-shirts. They were locked behind a glass door. I had to find a clerk to open it for me. Once selected, I couldn't put them in my cart. The clerk had to take them up to a front counter for me to retrieve later. When checking out, I located my T-shirts up front. At that point, the clerk had to take them to the self-service register and actually scanned them for me to make sure I was going to pay for them. I was incredulous, but apparently theft is a big problem in this neighborhood.
