Tara Reade has claimed that Joe Biden sexually assaulted her in 1993.  The media has been pretty much covering it up or discounting her claims, despite their over the top coverage of the less salacious claims against Judge Kavanaugh. There are contemporary verifications of Ms. Reade's claim, including a phone call from her mother to Larry King Live.  CNN has removed that episode from their archive.

A group of Russians bored with the quarantine have started a Facebook page where people recreate classic paintings.

Everyone except the liberal environmentalist global warming crown knows that nuclear power is the only clean energy that works. Now Trump is making plans to revive the uranium industry.

A pair of California doctors studying the data concluded that the difference between lockdown and non-lockdown did not produce a statistically significant difference in the number of deaths. Their math is wrong, and many are attacking their opinions because they can't do math. I didn't find anyone attacking the basic premise that we should be out and about.

Did you know that things are happening in the world besides the Coronavirus?  Here's a few items of interest.

Harvard Magazine recently profiled a sharp critique of homeschooling that is poorly reasoned and even more poorly timed in this period of distance learning. Read the critique of the critique.

There is an interview of two doctors where they make a compelling argument that sick people should be quarantined, not well people. The interview is going viral on the Internet.  Watch it here and part two here.

This almost reads like an infomercial, but the stories are worth reading. Who knew an Apple watch could do this stuff? The tech people don't seem very good at marketing, emphasizing features instead of benefits. I would have bought at early copy of Microsoft XP if Bill Gates had just told me I could keep working while printing a long document.

Here's a fun time waster, a symptom of the quarantine from guys who have too much free time. Pass the pepper.

Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus - World Bank

Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus is Director General of WHO. There are a lot of things wrong with this guy, including the fact that he is a Communist and has no medical training. He bungled the Crona-19 outbreak by covering for China. Here's a profile in case you disagree with Trump cutting off funding.

An engaging article about the White Island eruption and the tourists who visited.

A few days ago there was mention in this blog talked about success with remdesivir. Now controlled tests have contradicted that.

New studies have shown that the virus was widespread in US cities before we even knew it. The symptoms are similar enough to flu, and the symptoms mild in some people, that it was easily mistaken for the flu.

There are rumors that the virus was in the US as early as November, based on how widespread the antibodies are in the population. I took a long plane trip in December and had a bod cold afterwards. Maybe it was the flu. If you can get past the pay wall, here's more in the NYT.

Here's a video worth watching about how Norman Borlaug fed the world.

Trump was being ridiculed in the news for promoting UV light as a virus treatment.  Turns out this is not a new thing.  Plus, he did not suggest people inject themselves with disinfectant as widely reported. Here's the fact check. And now, there's even fake news about fake news. No, calls to poison control centers are not up. And further, from The Babylon Bee, how the media reacts to Trump statements.

More here from Forbes on Michael Moore's movie that skewers alternative energy.  Planet of the Humans is free on YouTube.  They got through the whole problem with alternative energy without mentioning nuclear power as a clean alternative.

More news on the claims that Biden sexually assaulted a staffer.

When I had pneumonia a few years ago, they used a pulse oximeter to keep track of my blood oxygen. Later, I bought one for myself; they are cheap and easy to use.  It turns out they provide an early warning for Covid-19 patients before symptoms appear. You can order one from Amazon and probably buy one at your local drug store.

Rick Bright, the director of the Biomedical Advanced Research and Development Authority, was transferred to a new, more narrow role at the National Institutes of Health this week. The media widely reported that this was because Bright disagreed with Trump on Hydroxychlorine. Bright made the same claims. It turns out this transfer was in the works for over a year and Bright is disingenuous.

Problems with the quarantine

Problems with the quarantine: rich people are having to do their own chores. It's come as a complete shock.

Most of the great things that Trump does do not get reported by the media.  Now he plans to cut even more regulations to help the economy recover.

More discussion on where the virus came from: an article in the WSJ lift out some key details from "Bat Woman" worrying about the source. Of course now she's telling a different story. Remember how the local authorities clamped down on that doctor for warning his associates about the virus? Ma bee the government helped her with the correct analysis.

A story that illustrates how biased the media can be: "Joe Biden is careful with his words".

A pretty good article about Kim Kardashian for people like me who thought her a lightweight.

A problem for restaurants: the benefits pay more money than the jobs they lost.

Some of us are old enough to have seen "Easy Rider" the first time around. Here's a review of a book written for the 50th anniversary of the movie.

The media has jumped all over that study showing that Trump's favorite medicine, Hydroxochloroquine didn't work for Covid-19. There are some problems with the study.

There are rumors that the number of Virus infections in China is well beyond the 80,000 reported.  One reason is that the Chinese always lie about the number of deaths. Another is that the crematories in China are running 24/7. Another rumor is that 21 million cell phones have been discontinued in the first three months of 2020 in a county where you have to have a cell phone. The Chinese have logical explanations of course.

People are starting to wonder if the virus actually came from a research lab near Wuhan instead of the wet market, which apparently never actually sold bats.

An interesting story about the lost apple project. They had a great year searching for apple trees.

Most of the people on the aircraft carrier that tested positive for the virus have no symptoms. This is a significant issue that apparently healthy people are carriers.

Remdesivir seems to be working as a cure for the virus in this small anecdotal study.

Former presidential candidate Mike Bloomberg killed an investigation into China because he was developing business ties for his company. Then they went after the reporter's wife.

The New York Times executive editor, Dean Baquet, actually had to answer questions about his paper’s very different coverage of sexual-assault allegations against Joe Biden and Brett Kavanaugh. I think we know why the coverage was different. How about the part where they changed the story after complaints by Biden's people?

Journalistic incompetence at the NYT; as you would expect. What happened to all those fact checkers?

Considering the number of cases not known, it appears that the Wuhan Virus is no worse than a bad flu epidemic, in which case the lock down is a mistake. For further study, read this article by Fauci making the same point.

Washington Post columnist Ruth Marcus, who wrote a book about sexual assault accusations made against now-Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh, and defended Dr. Christine Blasey Ford in the pages of her newspaper, now says the “#BelieveAllWomen” and “#MeToo” movement are “dumb” — because a similar, but credible sexual assault allegation has been leveled against the 2020 Democratic presidential nominee, former Vice President Joe Biden.

This is an entertaining interview between Bill Maher and Dan Crenshaw on Trump's response to the Wuhan Virus. Watch the video.

The Wuhan Virus

Alex Berenson used to be a reporter for the New York Times. He has a contrarian view on the Wuhan Virus. While he is not partisan, he shares Trumps view that the cure may be worse than the disease.  I have read some of his fiction books and they are very good. He has a new book out on Marijuana that contradicts the liberal narrative. More here on the author.

California politicians, liberal as always, support efforts to reduce greenhouse gases, under the assumption that they cause global warming.  As a general rule, liberals are not influenced by logic (try debating one). An example of this is this plan to demolish four hydroelectric dams on the Klamath River, the greenest of green energy. Look for the part where the electricity isn't needed anymore because it's being replaced by wind and solar.

Comments on the war against Chloroquinine by the media. Why is there one?

In the midst of the virus, the locust infection in Africa has fallen off the radar. I especially enjoyed the part where they blamed global warming.

Want to see some fake news from CNN? Here's an article disparaging Navarro for taking a positive spin on the virus while warning the administration privately that it could be serious.

Maybe you noticed I sometimes call it the "Wuhan Virus".  This is a tiny little protest over all the political correctness involved in not naming the virus after its point of origin. It's gotten so bad that the scientific journal Nature is apologizing for associating it with China.

Michael Burry, has taken to Twitter with a controversial message: lockdowns intended to contain the coronavirus pandemic are worse than the disease itself. Michael Burry was portrayed in the movie "The Big Short" the doctor-turned-investor who famously bet against mortgage securities before the 2008 financial crisis. He knows something about both medicine and economics.

Here's a cute illustration of the power of social distancing.

Senator Tom Cotton was way ahead of the curve on the Wuhan Virus. The media owe him an apology.

There are more problems with China than the virus. Trump seems to have been right about the geopolitical issues.

The left is reacting badly to hydroxychloroquine just because Trump is supporting it. They are even doing stupid things like the NYT argument that Trump has a vested interest. This I think anyone could agree is "fake news".

Inside the White House debate about hydroxychloroquine; whether to believe anecdotal evidence or wait for controlled studies.  Here's some anecdotal evidence: a Detroit rep says hydroxychloroquine, Trump helped save her life amid COVID-19 fight. More here on the doctors who are prescribing it.

Peter Navarro, the principal character in the above debate, wrote a memo to Trump in January warning of the possible consequences of the virus. Trump then restricted travel from China, something Trump doesn't get much credit for. Navarro seems to be some kind of hero.

A lot of people who were well known in their fields, that we have never heard of, are dying from the Wuhan Virus. When this happens, we get to  learn about their lives. Read this article about song writer John Prine. In the NY Times, a roundup of notable people who have died from the virus.

A lot of Coronavirus questions addressed by the NYT.

Google is working to wipe out mosquito born diseases.  Trials are working in California.

At a press conference, Trump questioned a reporter about ties to the Chinese Government. He seems to be on to something.

Gun laws in Brazil have been loosened under Bolsonaro so that normal citizens can own guns, not just the criminals. The homicide rate has dropped quite a bit, contrary to predictions. The New York Times article referenced in the story doesn't seem to be accurate, just politically correct.

A lot of people are turning to jigsaw puzzles while confined to quarters. Here's a story about how they are made. Hint-it's really hard.

Joe Biden has been charged with sexual assault. Why are the media ignoring it?

More here: an epidemic of media partisanship.

A choir decided to go ahead with rehearsal. Now dozens of members have COVID-19 and two are dead.

The Department of Homeland Security has declared that firearms workers are in an essential occupation.

Dr. Vladimir Zelenko has now treated 699 coronavirus patients with 100% success using Hydroxychloroquine Sulfate, Zinc and Z-Pak

This is old news, but it's interesting that the Mueller Report hid evidence exonerating Donald Trump Jr.

Portland is so messed up that they are putting innocent journalists in jail for protecting themselves.

If you imagine that a local business making surgical face masks is working 24/7, guess again. Guess how much these masks cost.

Biden earned 11 "Pinocchios" from fact checkers for comments made during the coronavirus pandemic.

Some more evidence that the UN is worthless and shameless. They have put China on the Human Rights Panel.  These are the guys who do organ transplants by harvesting parts from live political prisioners and who have a million Uyghurs in concentration camps.

hydroxychloroquine/azithromycin

Here's a doctor using Hydroxochloroquine who says it's a game changer and an end to the epidemic.

Trump was right; the fatality rate for the Coronovirus is much lower than initial estimates.

An 18-wheeler loaded with toilet paper crashed in Dallas. This must have been better than the armored car collisions.

The widespread failure to anticipate the deadly spread of Covid 19 can be traced largely to one thing: China’s mendacity from the start. Here is the extent of it.  More here: Boris Johnson is upset with the Chinese for their lies.

A choir decided to go ahead with rehearsal, none of the had symptoms. Now dozens of them are sick and two are dead.

The Johnson Smith Company catalog from 1938 is archived on the Internet. Scroll through the pages to see this remarkable collection of things available for a pittance.

Here's an inside look at the FDA's total failure in the testing kit fiasco. An extract:

Greninger then learned about another requirement. Under FDA rules, he was supposed
to digitally copy the electronic documents he had emailed to the FDA, burn the copies
onto a disk and mail the hard disk to an office in suburban District of Columbia.

Governor Cuomo opted to spend money on an ill-fated solar system instead of adding to the stockpile of ventilators as the experts recommended.

Samaritan's purse, a terrific organization, has set up field hospitals in Central Park. Mayor deBalsio is going to monitor them to see that they don't discriminate.

A Virginia clerk was locked up for shooting at three robbers.

China's media is touting double-lung transplants as a treatment for Coronavirus. Of course the only way you can get the parts needed is to harvest them from political prisoners.

An interesting thread about the effects of Chinese manufacturing on America.

Watch Dr. Fauci in January saying that the Coronovirus is not something to worry about.

Trump: the unappreciated president

A recounting of Trump's response to the coronavirus, dissed by the Democrats.

The FDA has given emergency authorization for the use of hydroxychloroquine for the virus.  It is interesting how Politico, reliably anti-Trump spins the story differently.

A sad story about the government's search for ventilators.  MIT will shortly publish the design for an emergency ventilator which can be built for $100.  It's obvious that it can't be built that cheaply; academics always underestimate the cost of building things or running a business, but it looks like it could be built for a few hundred dollars.

The FDA sat on approval for a critical mask sterilization process until it became public knowledge.

The Obama-Biden administration repeatedly sought cuts to the CDC budgets, and of course Biden is now accusing Trump of budget cutting.

An opinion piece about the way the media is treating Trump's daily briefings. Another perspective on the same subject from a liberal source.

For those who don't watch Meet the Press, Chuck Todd got a little blowback from asking Biden if he thought Trump had "blood on his hands" from his response to the virus.

In the midst of the pandemic, the Democrats are choosing to play politics.

Exactly 234 years ago this week, two of America’s founding fathers documented their first exposure to Islamic jihad in a letter to Congress; like many Americans today, they too were shocked at what they learned.

Trump Derangement Syndrome, TDS, is a real thing. It makes normal intelligent people react in inappropriate ways.  Here's a hospital executive who posted something snarky on the Internet which got her fired. She wouldn't normally be so unprofessional without TDS.

Johnson and Johnson says it has a promising candidate for a vaccine for Coronovirus which will be available in a year after the trials.  Reading between the lines, it probably works now but people and the economy will die before the FDA approves it.

MyPillow CEO Mike Lindell surprised President Trump — and most of the Rose Garden audience — during a White House coronavirus task force briefing on Monday by calling on Americans to read the Bible during their isolation from the outbreak.

The New York Times is blaming evangelicals for the virus, with no basis in fact. Read for an analysis of what Trump is doing.

Do you smell bad (poorly)? Loss of taste and smell is a good indicator you have Coronovirus.
