Of course the lawyers were working for the Democrats, not their client, and they never told her about the offer; they wanted to create optics of the evil Republicans cross-examining the innocent victim.  Also missing was that scene at the end when one of the Democrat staffers handed the lawyer a check in an envelope on national television.

Notable was her quote that "everybody is welcome in our neighborhood" and "you are not welcome here". It turns out that the lady is a Presbyterian minister.
